Lush Ultrabland Cleanser Review

Lush Ultrabland Cleanser is my new holy grail skincare product. I have fallen in love with it, it melts away all the dirt and makeup and leaves your skin baby smooth. What's not to love?

What Lush Say  |  "Based on an ancient Greek formula for cold cream, Ultrabland is beautifully simple and very effective. Made with almond oil, rose water, beeswax and honey, this cleanser removes all traces of dirt and makeup, without stripping away your skin's natural defences. Smooth over the face, any dirt will cling to the cream and you can remove it with a warm damp cloth or cotton wool."

I would definitely recommend this cleanser to everyone! It has such a soft, smooth texture that leaves your face makeup and dirt free (sounds good doesn't it?) - it literally melts away anything that was left on your face.

I usually use this in the morning to freshen up my face and leave it baby soft for the day, and it makes your makeup application look much nicer if your skin is well looked after! I also use this at night to remove my makeup, alternating between this and Garnier's Micellar Water.

It is a 'desert island product' for the Lush founders and I would definitely agree. It is so calming and gentle on the skin and doesn't leave me feeling tight, meaning it can be used everyday. My eyes are very sensitive and it's the one cleanser I have used that hasn't made them sting.

The smell isn't great - but it is very subtle so it is easy to look past. It also has been specially designed for use with any skin type. My skin is particularly dry and this cleanser has been a life saver, leaving my skin feeling hydrated and moisturised. It doesn't leave your skin feeling raw, like mine often does from makeup wipes.

The only bad thing about this product is that you can't use this on its own - it does leave the skin feeling greasy. I would recommend a foaming face wash afterwards to remove any last traces of the cleanser and then finish with a moisturiser - although it does leave the face moisturised so much that if I'm feeling really lazy I can skip the moisturiser and just fall straight into bed.

Another benefit is that it does last ages. My pot looks full but I have been using this one for around a week both day and night after finishing my previous one and you don't need to use much.

Have you tried Ultrabland? Any other facial cleansers you would recommend?

xx

  1. This sounds amazing! I always use a face wash after I take my makeup off with cleanser anyway, so the greasy feeling wouldn't be a problem. Ah, I love Lush!

  2. I have honestly never used a cleanser before and this post made me want to try this product! On a normal day, I will wash off my makeup with soap and water, exfoliate with charcoal and black sugar scrub, and then pat dry. I definitely need to amp up the skin care process haha/yikes!
